Selected by Winnipeg Jets,  round 1 #3 overall in the 1977 WHA Amateur Draft.
With his long flowing hair and natural good looks, Duguay was a smash hit with the young females on Broadway and the men liked him because he was an excellent hockey player. In his rookie season with the Rangers, Duguay netted 20 goals and assisted on 20 others in the 1977-78 season.
In 2009, Duguay was ranked No. 49 on the all-time list of New York Rangers in the book 100 Ranger Greats

Received this blue ink signed card IP. This was during one of Wayne Gretzky’s Celebrity Tennis Tournaments in the 80’s. They had tables set up outdoors and various celebrities rotated through and signed autographs. I was in a short line for Duguay. He was smiling before I handed him the card but he took one look and did not seem pleased. He was telling me that it was part of the rookie hazing. I said something to the fact that his hair had grown out fine. It’s always nice to have a little anecdote to go with the card. There was also a rumour about some fight with Lafleur involving Cheryl Tiegs. I could not get it confirmed but the story was flying around the Sunday morning.
