Brian Sutter

Selected by St. Louis Blues round 2 #20 overall 1976 NHL Amateur Draft
Selected by Edmonton Oilers round 3 #36 overall 1976 WHA Amateur Draft

Brian is the oldest of the six brothers who made it to the NHL.
“That’s the type of player I was. I wasn’t very talented so I had to work hard. I wasn’t a good skater, I wasn’t good with the puck, so I had to work hard to make up for it” Brian said, although it could have been equally said about any of his family members
Sutter became the team’s captain in the 1979-80 season and held the captaincy until retiring as a player in 1988 to step behind the Blues’ bench. Sutter played in three All-Star Games–1982, 1983, and 1985.
